2.5D photo test - Creating a 3D effect from a 2D photograph

Original photograph here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/elbeardo2007/5569886734 This is my first attempt at turning a two dimensional photograph into an animated three dimensional movie using Adobe Photoshop and Apple Motion. The effect is achieved by plotting the 2D elements in 3D space and moving a camera around the scene. I chose this photo for my first attempt because of the simple shapes and varied depth of field. I've added a fog effect and dust particles to enhance the effect. I've also added a slight shift in focus on the lanterns as the camera moves in.
